Have you ever heard of the APT? Well, when I talk to people many have forgotten about the train that was ahead of it time. If you mention the Flying Scotsman, all heads rise up and say "Oh yes, remember that steam train"
So we all know what happened to make people forget about the most important train of it time. The media and the government contributed to the down fall and success of the whole project.
What a lot of people forget is the APT project was at the for front of modern train and without it tilt design modern train such as the Virgins Trains would have been a lot longer time coming.So what do we do with this important train. Scrap most of them. If it was not for the quick action of the Railway Age at Crewe we wound not even have a set left. Just a load of pictures in a book.
Now 2006 should be the turning point for this poor old train. Its my hope to get the support to bring the train back to life and back to the rails.This is where I need your help, If you are interested in helping me obtain this goal please contact me.
